Anybody going or considering it?

Can't wait! Only thing slightly concerning is the noise test, anyone experienced it?

Went great Tom

Only got over taken twice by a mental kit car and a super charged type R engined lotus

Had to be towed in half way through as I had a boost pipe blow off  but bolted back up and off it went again.

Showed up a couple of faults with the car too so some fixes to be made.

Loved it though can't wait for the next one :awesome:

Hope setters on goes well for you

Good to hear mate! Last time I done a track day I didn't get overtaken by anything you wouldn't expect to so was quite pleased.

1 thing that held me up was standard brakes. How did you find your set up?

Yeah was fun overtaking the cars that people thought were fast, Astra GSi, that quick megane thing etc etc.

I was the only Evo there, kept getting people walking up and saying "thats bloody quick" :D

i have standard brembo calipers, performance friction disks on the front, standard disks on the rear, i think ds2500 pads (i forget the name/number),hel brake lines, and racing blue fluid.

they performed great to be honest. Blyton is heavy on the brakes too. No fade, the only thing that happened was a slightly soft pedal BUT no loss in performance :awesome:

Also cooked the paint a little on the calipers, theyre dark red now lol.

Ah right. Mine was all completely standard haha. I had almost no pedal after 2-3 corners when I 1st went out!

Now got some k sports and ds2500 pads all round with dot 5.1 race fluid and braided lines! Hopefully that'll do the trick this time!

Only other area I need to address is lack of power. I was miles faster on corners than most things but struggled to get passed some things on the straights which was annoying.

What power are you running?

Try switching pads to Pagid grey or Carbotech XP8, you will notice a huge difference over DS2500 which are rubbish

Indeed, 2500 ain't a patch on carbotec pads, I've run xp10's for years now and they far better than 2500

Also get yourself some halfords 5.1 fluid, it's awesome :)

Yeah my next pad set up is going to be carbotech after much research :D

Thanks for the advise though saves me putting a thread up about them.

Roughly 375bhp Tom, its peaking at 1.7/1.8bar :D

I don't need much more to be honest just want it solid now and plenty more suspension mods :sneaky:

I'd like around that power I think with similar torque. Only have 312/276 or something st the mo do its pretty pathetic on the straights haha!

I'm in despatate need of a remap bit other stuff keeps coming up, like poxy road tax this month!!!

Ha know the feeling got mot and insurance end of this month

Where abouts are you? Get Si@NTS to have a play with it he's got mine running spot on!

I should get a rolling road done on mine but CBA lol it feels fast enough for me as it is not so fussed about knowing what it's actually pushing.

You just need a solid 350/350 with good handling mods to have lots of fun, I've been researching suspension settings for the last few months and having a play at tyre pressures and temps etc its interesting reading and putting it to use :D

I'm down in Norfolk but am guna see simon when the time comes.

Feel a bit bad as every time I start arranging stuff with him something comes up haha!

My Mak handles really nice as it is now, although, I think after this track day I'm guna steal the tien flex's and edfc off our 4 for it and see how much difference they make.

He understands he's ace with them so get yourself up to see him sharpish!

You just have to watch out if you go too low, track day will expose any weaknesses, I found it more so than the nurburgring

Yeah I know mate. I just want to stiffen it up a bit really. Perhaps a bit of lows for aesthetics too lol.

Yeah I'll be getting up to see him as soon as I can.
