Bleeding ayc pump

I am going to change my ayc pump for a replacement second hand one this weekend. I am going to change the pump at home but can borrow a 2 post ramp about 5 miles away to bleed it, this seems like a better idea than doing 30 mph on axle stands but will it damage the new pump driving it before it is bled? I can only use the ramp for about 15 mins so unfortunatley cannot do the whole job using it.

no it wont damage it but you will need help. one to fill the res one to drive in second and 1.500 revs one to bleed left niple right hand down on stearing/ right niple left hand down on stearing but get ready cus that fluid comes out quit fast it is bled in seconds
all done off the ground

and after you done it disconnect the battery fo 20 mins or your pump will not work the ayc light must go out on start up or pump will not work if light comes back on you have more air in system if the pump and wiring is good

new ayc pump+pipes+new rear diff and all oils.lots of fun doing it on my driveway.

Lee i live in pilton near shepton mallet. Got a white 4 you would have seen parked next to you outside vue cinema in bristol a few weeks ago. Will do a hello thread when i get a minute and some better pics of her.

Just started doing this and the output pipe fittings are seized into the pump, does anyone have a good way to remove these or any spare pipes local that i could buy? The fitting between metal and rubber pipe is also seized solid. Need help urgently please.

ah yes i remember your car. did you park next to me intensionally

yea i know where pilton is mate, bout 20 mins from me, im in midsomer norton

as for your pipes soak them in WD40 and go gentle with them. if it stsrts to turn then goes tight simply do it back up and repeat several times undoing it a little bit more each time.

instead of disconecting the pipes where it joins, why not undo them from the diff instead

Ive got the pipes sorted now but snapped the bloody solenoid off of the new pump, is there any specific way to get them out or just remove the plate and hope theyre not too corroded? I dont really want to brake the good one i have trying to remove it to put it in the good pump.

Yes they are easily broken which is annoying but at least you have spares
Just undo the small bolt which holds the retaining bracket in place and then just pull the Solenoide out. Then can be tight but thats just the rubber O ring holding it. Just be careful not to pinch the rubber ring when re fitting the other Solenoide

buy both pipes from diff to pump first than cut pipes off do not round them off use a good socket or irwins and go nice and easy make sure you have very good grip at all times and make sure the nut is not twisting irwin exsracters are good good luck

Ah shame that. Will have a good crowd there and the drink will be flowing Saturday night

Yea they are a bit lairy for road but I had track tyres on my 18's and killed them off up castle Combe so they had to go on as a temp measure.

You'll have no trouble keeping up as it's along way to go with foot right down lol

Iv just bleed abit of the fluid in my 9 , I
Got the car up off the ground , got it to about 25 mph and turned steering lock to lock on each nipple but the fluid only dripped out ? Is this normal ?

You shouldn't have the car started...... Jus ignition on, if the nipple is loose it should come out quickly

Craig, you need to do the above to bleed the rear diff
