Just wanted to know if I need a new one.

The bolt which tightens the clip seems to just spin and not getting any tighter or looser.
Does anyone know what is the best way to loosen the it up?
Can you just change this bolt or do I need a new clip? ATM I can just slide the clip over the - terminal. it's tight enough not to slip off but not tight enough to be safe.

Most motor factors will sell new terminals so you can replace it or just get a new bolt for it :)

Ah I was just hoping I can just replace the bolt and nut.

The terminal I have on at the moment is OEM I believe. if I cut it off does that mean I need to strip the plastic to expost more wires and crimp the new one on?? do I need to solder it?

Pop along to a hardware store and look for new nut and bolt and cut old one off nothing wrong with giving that a go

I had the same problem on mine. I managed to find one at a local garage in the end. Until then I got a spade clip and bent it round for a tight fit. ;)

Yes its the smaller one. got a spanner at one end and used a ratchet on the other. just turns and doesnt loosen or tighten....

Heres another question.
Can you buy quick release terminal clips?
I often just drive the evo at the weekend. sometime once every 2 weeks. So when I park the car up in the garage I tend to remove the terminal to save the battery from getting drained. So if you can buy a quick release one then that would be alot easier.

Is there such thing?

mate yes get the ones from halfords there for the bigger terminals, then if you go to an auto electician you can buy some collers which fit over the small terminals and increase the size to fit the bigger ones, think you can get from ebay also, paid about £2 for the ones on mine,
