I don't think there is a "feeling"

It's a system that allows the car to turn in and corner faster, so it effects the whole handling sensation of the car. It's not something that come in like turbo boost, it's kinda always there on tighter faster corners.

I would imagine it would be easier to tell if the AYC is broken as you would get more understeer

AYC helps reduce understeer by using the rear wheels to create a yaw moment, which is (I think) a fancy way of saying that it increases the car's tendency to follow the direction of travel, almost rotating it about the centre. Oversteer is simply when the rear wheels lose traction, and no device that makes a car do that would probably be legal to fit to a road car :)

As others have said, it's often quite subtle and the time you'll learn the most about what it does is when your pump breaks and you drive without it until it's fixed. You'll notice the car understeers more and tends to just wash out when pushed hard through a corner.

Cars lively when ayc not working doesn't feel as planted in corners. Get used to it quickly though. Mines not worked for a while also abs is a tad unreliable

It's easier to describe what it's like when AYC isn't working - unpleasant! I lost total confidence in the cornering of mine, especially in the wet, when it failed. Had pump and diff reconditioned, it was like driving a different car afterwards.

Looks like I really need to be in someone else's evo and see if it differ. Theoretically no difference.

My 9 had been butchered when I bought it and the ayc pump was gone and the diff closed up, and I've only just ordered a pump to get it sorted, so I'm looking forward to this massive improvement you guys speak about, because even now I think the handling is really good, but that could be because I've just upgraded from a fwd leon cupra r :)

Mine wasnt working when i got mine e8, no three lights or anythin, but understeered a bit. I have fixed all the problems now and you can definatly tell the difference.

Sometimes if I'm booting it off of a roundabout I feel it start to let go and drift wide, and the revs climb like it's doing a 4 wheel drift. I guess that's the understeer you're on about?

My experience but could be my imagination. When negotiating a bend , say left bend . I'm getting a sensation the rear assisting the turn by drifting outward to the right, hence oversteer. If I straighten the wheel everything straightens but saying that if straighten too quickly the car twitch slightly.
Speed would be around 40 mph. Is that Ayc assisted or just something not right.

6.5ghost, your spot on there! I think that aswell like you have a touch of rear wheel steer to help you round, i know it doesnt but thats the sensation you get...Think ayc will only kick in after 30mph aswell

That's good thought I was about to loose it if I don't straightened up. [emoji1]
