hi all my ayc pump has gone and wanted to know if my car will fail mot because of this ???

No won't fail unless its leaking oil badly which I doubt with ayc fault

Craig have they (v.o.s.a) not brought the warning light displayed on dash rubbish in yet then as an m.o.t failure?

it dont come up with warning just say service required i dont know if they would see this as a warning in a norm mot station or just that the car is due for a service

Well tbh it shouldn't do but who knows with some of these places nowdays! You wouldn't believe some of the stupid things I have had written on my advisory notices!!

I'm a mot tester and no its nothing to do with mot. If they say it is tell them to prove it n show you. Then went they cant find anything for it say do I need to go to vosa lol.

Shouldn't fail MOT but might show on advisory which isn't good when looking to sell. Dont forget you cant hide from the problems now everything is electronic and some might take the leaving of major faults like AYC as a sign that other areas haven't been looked after (this is in no way a coment dircted at you personally just an observation of Evo buyers).

AYC failure on the X is going to become more and more common and is going to be much worse than on earlier iteration (trust me I've had mine off ans seen how bad they are after 3 years!!!).

Most X failures will be high/low presure plate so fixing kit for less than £100 and maybe 3 hours of spanner work if you're handy. If not, lots of specialists about that can take care of it for you.
