AYC light evo 6

Hi can somebody tell me at what point the AYC light goes out on the dashboard when you start the engine as I can't here my pump run and I'm wondering if someone has wired the light to something else mine goes out at the same time as the ABS light is this correct also how can I test to see if it is working??

Do you mean the three lights? Or just one? The one stays on to tell you what mode your in....thats in my evo8, im sure theres somthing you can do to make it power up....i think its hold the accelerator down then turn your ignition, have someone near the pump to listen for it

I only have the one light that's says ayc it's a evo 6 can't here any noise from pump?

Looks like it's been wired to to abs light
All my lights go out one by one

Yeah that's what I thought. Is there anyway I can get the pump to run while it is on the car?

Yes if you undo the pump you can drop it down so far. Take the plug off its one of the back ones red and black wires, and put 12v to the pump see if it starts buzzing away.

Ok thanks for the replys. Why can't people fix things instead of bodging now I have to find out how they have wired ABS light to the AYC light.

No worries mate, it's a nightmare probably done it because the has packed in and need rebuilding.
My light has just come on so I'm going to get it sent off next week hopefully won't need to much.

It would of been nice to know makes it easier to sort out. I'm gonna get it off and strip it down as I can fix it myself it's not a problem. Just buy a rebuild kit for a fraction of the price it's easy to do then you just need to bleed it of which you can get a kit to do that too. Does your AYC light go off as soon as you start it?

Yes it does will come on after about half hour of driving. Was looking at a rebuild kit it don't look to much involved by what you get?

Thanks for that. I found what they have done, they wired a timed relay to the ABS and ayc bulbs and where the bulbs go into the instrument cluster they cut away the circuit board so that's ruined as well some idiots shouldn't be allowed cars.

bah sry to for ya there bud some people Grrrr why not just get it repaired or at least tell the buyer instead of doing that and creating more work for u.... but noooo they have to hide a problem and make more work for you to fault find and to sort out..... feel for you there m8... whats the plan then? find new cluster ect and get the ayc rebuilt? is the fuse still connected do u no?

Well I need to find out exactly what they have done. Where's the fuse for it? I can rebuild the pump myself . Just if they said it would save a lot of hassle as now I have to sort out there mess. I need a cluster but I have found one so I'll get that. Any idea where I can get a wiring diagram from the ayc?

the fuse is connected to the posi side of the battery two secs ill go get a quick pic for ya

here we go.... ive got a full work shop manual that i used ages ago for the ecu wirring ive not fully gone through it so it might have the ayc wirring in there your more then welcome to a copy of it if u like?

Yeah the fuse is still there so I will need a new cluster and see what lights come and go from there. The ayc pump is still connected. I'll put 12v to it and see if it runs but it will need a rebuild like all of them. Thanks for your help.
