Lovely day so went for a blast around. Went round a roundabout and the ayc light came on so drove to a petrol station filled up as usual and when ignition turned back on the warning light had gone. Drove about five miles and on it came again! Any ideas would be truly helpful.

UPDATE
Checked fluid this morning and that is right to the max, so what next? Take it to garage to get checked over. I know you can still drive it but its not nice knowing that there is something not right somewhere>

as said before check tyre pressures
gooner8 had similar problem and found a very low tyre pressure had triggered the ayc light
otherwise flash the codes out
pin 1 + 4 on the obd port
probably just the pressure switch failing

Another AYC problem. Bleed the system a few times and see how it goes, then new pressure switch may be. get fault code if that's no good, hope you don't get code 82( for EVO 4-6)

I think the plug is the other way up to how you expect it to be, pin 1 is bottom right. I think thats on evos but cant remember for sure.

yep usual problem, be a weak pump code 81 iirc.. its the hot weather thins the oil and if pump not 100% will put light on, try disconectin your battery and then try it, should keep it off for a few days....

pressure test

You could do a google search for renting an "AYC pump pressure test Gauge" from erento for £20, that will let you know if its the pump going weak on a hot day, or just a replacement pressure switch needed>
I always find a mechanical test is much better at revealing faults on a hydraulic system than electrical test codes.
hope that helps, Rog
