Bridge pins 1 and 4 on the OBD connector and count the flashes of abs light, long flash is 10, quick flash is 1.

Ok guys here is the current situation. I'm flying to look at the car next week. I would have to drive 750 miles to get her home. Would the diff be safe to drive on?not sure how the ayc riffs work. If the diff fluid will lubricate it or if it is only lubricated from the pump. Please help ASAP! Depending on the situation will change my trip.

After rummaging for info since my last post i have found this.
AYC / ACD System Explained SERVICE and BLEED Alternative [Archive] - EvoXForums.com - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Forums
It has a few diagrams on the ayc diff. This is for a evo x which i am not sure how relatable the diffs are to a evo 4-9 but it looks like the ayc is in its own separate housing within the rear diff and if it is not functioning then the left and right clutch just sit in the oil and stay lubricated as they are not being used. Confirmation on this would be great as you guys know this stuff a whole lot better then us in the usa.

i dont think there will be any damage done to the pump or anything if the pump is not working. Some say that it will cause the rear diff lock. but i doubt it.
Normal driving, it shud be fine. (my personal guess)

Fine to drive with ayc pump not working! Unlikely you would even notice the difference in normal road driving!

Mines been on for 2 months now mate. No problem driving it. As said above probably only feel it once you do sprited driving. Normal driving will be fine. It will just operate as a open diff. :)

I have a question about the rs swap/aftermarket lsd. When doing the swap do you need to swap any other diffs as well? Also if you do an aftermarket lsd like kaaz or cusco will you need the rs diff or at least the housing since the internals are different?
