I had to travel 55 miles to the Apple store but well worth it. The Sheffield one was prob. a little closer but a better drive to Trafford Centre.

I got there and there were Mac books, Ipad2s and free WiFi to use (kept the kids entertained).

Got muself checked in and 15 minutes later my turn. They checked my iphone and told me they had never seen a screen go as bad as mine and they gave me a brand new iphone Also booked in the mrs iphone at same time. Guess what, they gave her a new one too. Not bad considering they both had marks and scuffs on them.

Never had a phone issue resolved so quickly

Both iphone4s. Mine had 62 days left (now has 90 days), other one was 2-3 months old. I can get the warranty extended for £61 which aint bad imo. Also considering selling mine but not sure

When it comes to apple the way they look at it is that you pay for thei product and they will look after you, they would rather jus replace ur phone and keep u happy thus the apple name lives on, blackberry are the same I've booked some real states in for repair and they have just been replaced

So how do you know how old a handset is cos mine is on contract which has expired but the handset itself isn't that old cos I had a replacement in febuary when the screen stopped working but that was through orange not apple

the warrenty is from date of purchase and not from date of replacement otherwise warrenty would never end. same as a car. all it means for you lee is that when you upgrade and you have your old phone kickin around it wont be in as bad a state if you want to sell it really.

whether its through orange, carphone, p4u or o2 iphones always get sent to apple no one else is authorised to fix their phones

Lee you could try and extend your warranty. It's £61 if they let you extend. It'll be worth more when upgrade time comes, and the new one will work out cheaper if you decide to sell this one

Has any of u got insurance with phones for u?

I got my iphone from phones for u and didn't take out insurance straight away but after a few drops and near misses i thought i had better, so a week later i get a phone call from phones for u head office, and he goes on about the useless jargon for abit about insurance so i decide to take it.

I had a choice of two 1st one (cheaper option) covers everything but not if u lose it, 2nd one (dearer) includes everything and if u lose it, so i thought i would take the 2nd one cos u never know, after he waffled on abit and i accepted it, he then decides to tell me the ''if u lose it bit'' doesn't actually cover u if u lose it in public!!!

what network are you on foxy? if its orange cancel the p4u insurance and take out orange care!!! they are spot on its about 13 quid a month but better than p4u, they hardly ever pay out

p4u insurance is a bit daft aint it! You're not insured if you loose your phone in public, what a load of s^&%. What's the point in having insurance if you're not covered for loss (that's one of the reasons you insure).

I'm going to be signing back up with orange care cos the service is awesome.
If you loose it break it of it's faulty then just one call and you'll have a replacement on your doorstep. I stopped mine in favour of getting it free with my bank but people I spoke to and comments were made here and next door people think it's great, that is if you don't mind being without your phone for a couple weeks. Then you still have to go out and buy a new handset :wtf:

I'm on 02, the insurance is £13.95 a month but i get 2 months free, wish i hadn't now though cos if i lose it then i'm ucked, and he also mentioned something about paying £100 for the phone if something happens but i lost interest by that point so i'm gonna guess that not only if i lose it but i'm also gonna be £100 down as well :sad::sad:
