quite common mate, try fitting new o-rings on the dipstick (old ones probably knackered)

if that doesn't cure it then get a compression/leak test done on it and hopefully its not something serious.

try gently pinching the dipstick with pliers so it fits more snug around the o-ring

Welcome to the Forum buddy!!!!

Good suggestion Diccon.

Give it a try Sir Shrek and see how it goes.

It is a common problem I'm afraid:(

Get a cylinder leakage test done chances are the ring lands have worn

crimping the tube will probably hold it, but you may be masking a worse problem.

sounds like the rings are worn but i would get a compresion test done first and any good garage will do it and i would charge a £5 to do it to

A compression test will not show you a acurate cylinder leakage you need to get a cylinder leak test done

Hi Mate,

My old evo 4 used to do it all the time, but I was running 365 bhp - I ended up getting another dip stick off an evo 4 at a breakers yard for less that a 10a and this solved the problem. However I would take on board the other comments from the others members as they are very clued up to this sort of thing.

Cheers
Ollie

dip stick shooting out is one thing but if it is throwing up oil too then there is a serious cause for concern. get the relevant checks done because you will pay through the nose later on.
