Stepper problem indeed.

If you take it to the dealers i believe they will charge a fee of £400+ which is ridiculous because most of the time they would rather change the stepper then faf about tweaking it!
Tricky indeed for those bafoons!

Best bet is to disconnect the battery, take the stepper off and clean it thoroughly but try not to mess with the screws. put it back on, re connect the battery and see how it is, if there is no joy then at least it is clean and then what you want to do is take the evo to your nearest tuner and get them to tweak the controller to idle at 1100 or so and then bring it back down to base. A hell of a lot less cost and maybe a cheap dyno run too?????

If you want to have ago at it yourself then i will be happy to give you further detailed instructions.

Good luck buddy and please let us know how you got on.

Hi,

P0505 usually requires a base idle reset via evo scan or similar. 260s are renowned for this issue. If the light comes back on as ElDopesta said... remove the idler stepper motor clean everything(body and motor cone head).

Do either of these cars stall on low speed manoeuvring with the air con on.
Are either of them cam'd

Scott
