I bought a jvc head unit and its iPod iPhone comparable so I just plug it in and control from remote or unit itself, don't know if any evos have it built in

The location varies with what stereo you have, mine comes off a USB port from the back of the stereo and out my glovebox, others come out from the front of the stereo :)

I think what you are saying is you have the standard unit on the Evo X
ie) a HDD Satellite Navigation System with 30GB Music Server and Rockford Fosgate Premium Audio System with Steering Wheel Controls for the Music, Voice Acivation and Bluetooth Telephone Operation.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the media server is there to replace the ipod so just store your music there.

I'm not 100% sure but think I read somewhere there is no connector for the ipod and no way to control an ipod automatically by integrating into the standard unit and controls.

However, I did read somewhere that behind the gear stick is a little cubby hole behind which you can find a standard RCA jack. With that you can either connect an RCA to mini adapter(for an AUX) or an iPod dock with the RCA output to connect the iPod to the stereo.
Dock is recommended so audio is not amplified through the headphone jack. Hope this helps?

If evo X can be here :)

They were supposed to communicate with Rockford via bluetooth, but mine only ever did once for playlists ^^ Phone works fine tho. That lead does all and if u get attachment u can watch movies etc (when stationary ^^)
