Right i have a Volvo XC90 which we have just sold,So far so good! The vehicle came from Mercedes Retail Direct which we buy alot from and the vehicle came to us with the paperwork to follow on! So far so good! When we got the paperwork through 2 weeks later as the vehicle had a private plate which was removed it had no mot paperwork with it!

Now is it me or have D.V.L.A changed the goal post's again as the new V5 (log book) clearly state's the plate change was carried out on the 22/04/13 but the vehicle ran out of mot back in november 2012!!!

Does a vehicle now not need to be moted/taxed to remove it's plate??

I can not work this one out:arms:

I have checked on the DVLA mot info site and it state's it's mot ran out in november!

I have spoken to the owner who has had the vehicle from new and they have confirmed that the car had no mot and that it was PX at meredes in Birmingham! So How the hell did mercedes get the plate off this car and onto the new car with out mot???

Plates can be removed from the car I think they allow car to be a few months out of mot and they can still transfer... Happend with a mate of mine his car run out of mot we stripped it bare and DVla told him not to scrap it until he ha everythin thro for plate..
