Alton Towers - times?

Hi guys, I'm going to alton towers this week (wednesday) and as I haven't been for a good few years was just wondering what times they open?

the official site says they open from 10am-5pm (I'm assuming this is when the rides are open?) but if I remember correctly they actual open the gates before that? 9am? 9:30am?


anyone been recently or have any info regarding times? obviously we want to get there as early as possible to try and fit everything in in case its busy.

I was there last year & TBH the main rides wernt even open @ 10am

The rides open at 9 for fast track and hotel guests, the gates open at 9.30 for everyone and the rides dint open to anyone else until 10. I was there last week stayed at the hotel it's wiked lol

managed to get there for just before ten and we managed to walk straight on to oblivion for the first ride....awesome ride!

biggest que length was half hour so was quite lucky to go on a quietish day.

....took a lot longer to get home due to the satnav giving me weird directions and changing its mind all the bloody time.....not fun.
