alternator

hi all, i need to fit a new alternator, can this be done from the top of engine,or do i need to do it from the underside,i noticed the driveshaft is slap bang in the middle if i go from underdside,cheers folks, its an evo iv.

I have never done it but I am sure I heard Rob from Indigo say it had to be done from underneath and the driveshaft need removing but that was on an evo 8 so I could be wrong

thanx m8, thats a full day shot by the sound of it. needs must.

Engine mounts also need to be dis-connected according to the Mitsu service manual, so engine will need supporting, etc.

Sounds like a right pain to do.
