Hi Lads,

How you all doing?

Currently I am looking for a Evo 6 or 7 depending on what takes my fancy.

I've got a Mazda RX8 231 at the moment

I'm toying with the idea at the moment as most companies are asking in excess of £2,000 for insurance and I can't justify paying that much for a piece of paper lol

Thought I'd join up read up on these cars and get advice from forum members as i suspect you guys know what you are on about.

personally i prefer the 6 tme and its probably more value for money. see what others think when they come along.

Hi lads,

The RX8 is a group 15 I think....and i'm paying £750 on insurance LOL

I prefer the 6 as i feel it looks beefy! LOl but the 7 looks more modern in my opinion! (hope I dont offend any of you guys)

I've got about £7,000 to spend on the car...

Thanks Nick it is a fantastic car but I've always fancied an evo.

you will be able to get fairly decent 6 for that price. i agree in that they look beefier though!! lol.

im 22 and the cheapest insurance i could get is £1380. which isnt really that bad. i might have to sell mine though as i got alot on atm and although i love the car, its alot of money!!!

Woah! who are you with to get that quote? how many no claims you got?

What are the most common problems these cars suffer with?

that is with elephant. its worth giving nfu mutual a call as they are also cheap and thats who im going with when its time for renewal. that is with 5 years no claims, mods declared too.

there are no "common faults" as such, just depends on wether you keep on top of the servicing and if you get a decent motor to start with at all.
if you havent started looking yet it may be worth browsing through this to give you a few ideas for test drives etc....

Welcome mate id go for a v as theres not much between tge v an vi on looks only diff looking at it is front bumper and rear spoiler plus for 7k u will get a high powered v for your money

Vi has got a stronger engine and slightly better suspensuon but u will see 380bhp from a v easily and reliable upto you tho

A Plan wont touch me with a Barge Pole! LOL

Sky Insurance (my current insurers) have said £1400 which I think is decent, going to ring around this week and see what I can get.

Seen a few really nice 6's but there's a 7 im in love with! But im going to need a Loan for it! LOL
