Air Conditioning Unit Weight

Thinking of removing the air conditioning unit from my Evo IV GSR to reduce weight and gain track-day performance.

I've been told unit including climate control heater box is about 100 kgs, but that's about 7% of the car's kerb weight. I can't believe that.

Any knowledge out there?

Also, would it be worth removing air con parts but not the climate control heater box as I'm told that would need the dashboard removed. Sounds expensive!

it depends if you want heating to work in winter??

i think just the aircon weighs about 15kg....

but i am not sure you need the dash off to get the heater box... i would think so though.

you will also need a belt from the rs
