Affordable coilover options

Hi guys I no this has probabally been covered a million times and I have searched but can't seem to find a definitive answer . I'm looking to spend under a grand but ideally around £800 or less the main thing I am looking for from the coilovers is a ride that dosent break my back I want the best ride possible for my price range any ideas guys as there is loads of sets out there I just don't no what to choose from . And please don't shout at me for posting another coilover thread lol.

Why do you want coilovers then if you don't want to stiffen them up? Save some money and just go for some lowering springs

Eibach springs on your shocks and use left over hundreds for tuning parts or carbon goodies

Use the search feature as there are plenty of coilovers threads..also there is a good few for under £1000. As Nick said why do you want coilovers if you want want a harsher ride?

Bc coilovers are a good option, you could run them with the preload off on stock springs and that would make them act much like stock suspension but which the option of being lower

Well I've got coilovers already but they r a bit f***** getting very noisy and the ride is terrible so I would need shocks and springs and also I like the car to sit nice and low is there any springs that go low I would like it 2 be as low as it is now really so how could I measure it so I would know what springs to get?

Tein springs or Eibach are low, in fact Tein were too low for my streets so switched to exe-tc coilovers for go kart ability and to sit higher:awesome:

You pay for what you get though, you buy cheap coilovers and in no time they will be the same as you have now. Or you could buy a high end coilover secondhand and still be in the same situation if they haven't been cared for.

What car are they going on, and what use will they be having track, road or both?

Personally if you want just the ride height I would try and source a low mileage evo 9 Bilstein set up with lowering springs

Then I would definately go for a low mileage evo 9 set of billys and tein springs. Evogeof runs this set up so maybe worth you having a chat with him.

Sorry to hijack

I'm looking at tein or eibach for my e4

Tein say 42mm front & 35mm drop rear
Eibach say 25mm drop all round how true is this

Not sure if the 4 springs are different height to 7,8 or 9 models but I know geofs sits pretty low, see if you can find a pic of his car in the gallery, you might have to do a bit of a search though as he's quite shy about posting pics of his car

Why would you need new standard shox? Uprated springs fit the standard struts. Unless your shocks are shagged! I have dc coilovers on mine can't fault em for the price.

Yeah i would need some bilsteins which are about £350 then springs about £150 so I may aswell get some new coilies wot about bc or d2

You can get low mileage 2nd hand billies for less than that, there's always someone with a 9 who is upgrading to coilovers so should be reasonably readily available just stick up a wanted thread on here and MLR

Would this give me a better ride than coilovers and would I be able to get it as low as I wanted on springs as I've only seen 35mm ones

Can get scond hand bc's pretty cheap mind.. Just make sure they aren't seized on the adjustment.. Can drop the car low on them if you wanted
