Advice please :)

Hi all. I've had my 6 offroad while I've been away for a month. The car has sat on the drive under a car cover and hasn't been started since a left it. I did these things to it before I parked it up. Gave it a good wax and polish, took the battery off, left the handbrake off and chocked the wheels, left as little fuel in it as possible, changed the coolant before I took it for its last drive. I also had the car serviced a few weeks before I took it offroad. What advice I would like is..... What would all of you experts suggest before I start the car up for the first time? Eg maybe keep it inside a warm garage if I could for a day or two? Change the oil? Etc. Just some well needed advice from anyone who has maybe been through this before. Or am I just over reacting? Thankyou

Get in, turn key and smile as it fires into life. Thats what i would be doing. To be honest a month really isnt long enough to worry about it too much imo.

My old car sat for 6 months while I lost my licence and started first time with no probs. Jus start it mate it will be fine just let it tick over for few mins before driving

Start her up and drive the stones outta her

I'd would take the battery out of her and put it in a shed or somewhere a little warmer

Fire her up, take it nice and easy for the first few miles to warm her up and off you go

Often leave mine sat for that long when away working.

Disconnect the coil packs and crank it over for around 4 x 5 second intervals. Connect the coil packs back on and then start the car but dont rev it until the temp gauge moves off the mark.

That's the proper way to do it because it ensures the oil pump has sent oil round the engine. Helps ya avoid knock on bottom ends.

I'd disconnect the fuel pump then crank it over cos that would be better than cranking it with no spark cos you could end up just flooding the engine with fuel.

haven't actually got round to starting it yet. I declared the car offroad before i left as i thought i'd be away for allot longer. So think im goin to leave it till after the new year just so im not missing out on half a month with road tax
