Hi All!

Merry Christmas folks and I hope you all had a nice time?

I'm after a bit of advice please guys...

I'm looking at an Audi TT 1.8 Turbo 4x4 S-line, quiet old, 2000 reg.

Has anyone got any experience with these motors please, comments, reliability (may be a daft question been an Audi!) Common faults they are prone to etc etc..

Advice greatly appreciated folks :D

Cheers, Andy

It wont be an S-Line on a 2000 model mate!!

Watch for head gasket failure and transfer box issue's

They eat tyres and make sure all four are the same make and have been changed at the same time!

Yeah, realised that a couple of days ago, makes no difference to me as it only seems cosmetic stuff and a few mil lower, no power gains or anything worth writing home about..

Thanks for pointing that out though buddy!

I know it's no EVO, but I have brought it for the MRS aswell as me, she likes the look of them, (and at the end of the day she is the boss in our relationship!!, god bless her!!!) it was either a TT or a friggin 206cc!!! :wtf: when I reminded her I was unfortunate enough to own a R5 GTT and spend a flippin fortune to keep it alive she changed her mind  French electrics seem to be....how do I say...shit?

Unfortunatly we have had 4 of them and all had issue's that cost us the earth to sort out!

I had a few 5 gtt Raider's when i was 19 and had to but head gasket's on both of them:whistling:

I must admit, I liked the 5GTT, but I wished it would work, always fecked, changed tonnes, sills, all electrics...starter motors, alternator and the worst was the friggin accelerator cable, went through 4 in about 6 months!..always bloody snapping in mid flight...in the end done the chocky box mod!....The only car I have ever owned that was any good in the past was an Audi 2.6 A4, never wanted for anything
