Hiya right here's my quandary, I have spent vast's amounts of money on my Evo 4 getting her up to scratch as a weekend toy and track car but now I am entering the world of racing and to fund it she's got to go :( I will miss her dearly but I need to free up the cash to support my racing next year. Before you say use the Evo I would love too but it would be too expensive to use her. So do I strip her or sell her complete? She owes me around 8 grand but I no I ain't gonna get that the least I could take is 5 but do you think anyone would pay that for a 4?

Would be better of splitting if you want to sell it, seems to be really difficult to sell a high power car.. Depends if you can hold out or want instant cash, no doubt the major bits will sell quick enough

What sort of price do you think he engine is worth It's done around 2000 miles since I fitted it and 1000 miles of that was running in at no more than 3000 revs and 0.5 of boost ( yes that was a killer) also turbo timer used 3 mins after switch off and warmed up to half way before driven. After run in it was remapped to 410 bhp and has done 1 track evening that I did 78 miles on rest of miles have been road.I have lost count of how many oil changers I have done I did around 6 on running in then since around 4-5 as I am a mechanic and get parts cheap so like to keep her well serviced.
Spec -
Evo 5 block and head rebored to take manley rods and pistons
Acl race bearings all round
Balance shaft deletion kit
Crank tollerances checked and all good and in original spec
Multi layer e8 metal head gasket
Arp head studs and nuts
Arp conrod bolts
Arp main bolts
New oil pump
New water pump
Gates cam belt kit
Blue point tensioners and idlers
New mitsi hydrolic c/belt tensioner
E8 MR cams
New oil filter housing
New larger oil cooler
Valves reground and stem oil seals fitted
Complete gasket set
No expense spared on it i have complete build pictures as I stripped and rebuilt (im a fully qualified mechanic with 19 years experiance) it as I don't have many receipts because most the stuff I brought cash so no vat and pistons and rods of a member who purchased them but never got round to fitting them.It wasn't a rush job either it took me around 4 months to complete. Yours thoughts and would anyone wanna buy it?

Not too easy to price an engine. The low mileage should help you there.
Rough idea of pricing

Indigo gt have a fully foged engine with tomei cams and pulleys £1500 only got run in miles on it and then the car is being stripped. This is a bare engine, no manifolds, injectors. And the iv block is wearing around the main bearing so knocks the price.

It is very cheap, but prices vary so much.

Seen a long rod 8 motor with worked head for about £2100, that had miles on it..

If you could what would you want back on it?

Sorry mate I take it back, if it's complete then that's a fair price..won't get a forged engine with the turbo etc..

Maybe stick it up in the for sale section and see what happens?
