Hi guys, i've been lookin at gettin an evo for a while now n while lookin thru eBay, I bid on a few nice IV's n V's in a vain attempt to get them at a low price n forgot about them as I got outbid almost straight away! Well I got home from work yesterday to find I had an email from eBay askin to pay for an evo IV rs! This can't be right I thouhgt to myself n checked thru my eBay and sure enough I had the winnin bid on it at 3350! But hang on I bid at like 2000??? I then realised that on 1 of them I used auto bid and forgot bout it haha! Well now I have the car I wanted (even if it wasn't planned) and have to insure it! Here's my problem, I'm 21 (oh dear!) and the cheapest quote so far is 3800!! That's more than what I payed for the car!! Did anyone else have this problem and if so how did u go about it?? Shall I just grit my teeth n pay that much or is there specialist companys out there that anyone could recommend?? Thanks adam

Welcome!

Thats certainly an entertaining way of buying a car!
Im afraid the way is to try all the specialists and comparison sites.
How many years NCB have you got and do you live in somewhere dire (for insurance purposes) like Manchester?
At the end of the day, it probably wont go below 4 figures at that age but good luck!

Ye I went to see it 2day and I'm happy to say it's a very neat example!! (lucky me) I live just outside London but in a wealthy private estate (not that I'm rich, but my inlaws are haha!) Ye the comparison sites were a joke! I've found a company that speciise in evo insurance that promise me "considerably less" than 3000! So hopefully they'll sort me out!! Also would u be able to tell me or direct me to a link with the common known faults with these cars?? Thanks
