ABS light on in the wet

recently the ABS light has come on when driving in the wet. After pulling, switching off ignition and back on it goes out. I have Evoscan so going to check the sensors to make sure they're ok, but are they common on my car?

Also pedal feels a little hard too. I adjusted the rear shoes when fitting the new disk and pads as the rear shoes had been slackened off a fair bit which was why the handbrake travel was excessive, handbrake feels good now though.

Just the ABS light and the pedal slightly harder than i expected

car is a 2002 Evo VII RSII FQ300

What evo? Did you catch or pull on the plug on the abs connector plug when adjusting the rear brakes. Have you made the handbrake adjustment through the adjuster hole in the rear hub? you checked to see the rear wheels were not catching a little after adjustment?

As far as i'm aware i havent disturbed the ABS sensor at all.
I adjusted the rear shoes through the inspection hole in the disk hub

Strange the ABS light only comes on in the wet then goes off again when your turn the ignition on/off. Ive had these come on before but was either a faulty sensor, sensor plug got disturbed, sensor plug unclipped slightly making ABS light come on and go off irregularly, rear brakes being adjusted to much and worn then rubbing as you rotate the rear wheel with the handbrake off has made the ABS light come on before also. Seems like a dry connection or interrupted current. Have had these issues before but mainly in E5 E6 and E8. Evoscan or MUC 2 should show any faults. Reset the ABS and see if this keeps the ABS light off.

Cant see any damp in the footwell. Plugged Evoscan in and no DTCs. My next step is to hookup evoscan and go for a drive and check the sensor outputs

Try the manual way of flashing the codes out, evoscan isn't very good.
