ABS + AYC lights on???

ABS light is on ( and you can feel it popping on the brake pedal when you push it ) and recently the AYC light came on, there is a wierd sound coming from engine area when I drive forward, like a humming clicking sound, but when I stop.... it stops, and doesnt sound if I reverse...?? ive done the fault finding thing and I get code 65, which is the ABS monitor system open or short circuit, ALSO.... the return line from the turbo to the engine block ( Aluminium line) leaks, the internal thread seems to have shit the bed.... and leaking onto my drive..... Is this a regular problem with 4's ??

Pulling my hair out...... and can see the local mechanic rubbing his hands already, so really want to deal with this on my own.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? please.....

The AYC uses some of the ABS sensors to monitor things in order to work properly, so if your ABS has an problem, then the AYC light will also come on even if there is no problem with that part of the system.

From the service manual regarding error code 65....

Replace the "*********...." with lancer register.com

Could be the ABS ECU itself or possibly just a damaged/failed ABS wheel sensor, or sometimes failed ABS relays can cause this error.

Return line from the turbo leaking is not really a common problem unless it has been tampered with. If 100% stock out the factory then it is actually quite rare for the turbo oil return to leak.

Thanks, I think itll still be a visit to Wallace Performance, It seems these cars get to a certain age and everything starts going, so far ive replaced the suspension / battery / starter motor / lights / stereo + speakers / tyres..... the list goes on and on!!! Once its fixed and back on the road, I'll be selling it, the new owner will think its a brand new car!!! Where about in Aberdeenshire are you?? I'm in Newmachar.

I started getting abs light on and off now and again checked all sensors and one of them had a cracked casing and u could see the coil inside I replaced it and it's fine now, check that first
