a very sad day!! poorly evo!

so after owning my evo for less than a month i pranged it into a curb after hitting ice, the main damage being the front wheel its well and truly ball bagged! when i took it to the wheel specialist for them to order the wheels they said iv bent the rear arm too....im guessing this would be the rear lower arm as they left the wheel on and were looking at it from the back end of the car?? Anyone any ideas how much something like this should cost so i dont get ripped off?? i wasnt going at any great speed, infact i think i was going faster when i began to skid of the ice!! so apart from the rear arm im hoping itll probably be just the tracking thats out and it still drives fine??

oh and the wheels cost £127 each and the tyres are £110.....and as you can guess by the front wheel, its beyong saving!!

I did the same a month is so ago, it was my upper rear arm on my rear same side as yours that was fubarbed lol it cost me £40 for another one and got the tracking done and it was fine.

I slipped on diesel and was doing slow speeds too, just completely lost it on a roundabout, clipped one Kerb that sent me spinning facing on coming traffic and slammed
Into the opposite Kerb and went up the Kerb backwards into a ditch :sad:

Thanks guys! I was gutted when it happened especially after emptying savings to buy the bloody thing weeks before! Ah cool it doesn't sound like its gonna cost to much then, well for the rear arm anyway, it does look a little bent but only ever so slightly! What's worse is the wheels and tyres are less than 6 months old, they'd only covered about 2000miles!

Ah but at least you had a good story to tell with yours! Plus even with out the suspension bits the tyres and alloys are gonna be £300+ :-(

Guys Iv been told I need the suspension geometry done once Iv fitted the rear arm, is this the same as a 4 wheel alinement or something totally different? As my trackings out too....the bills are rising!!! :-(

tracking, geometery, 4 wheel alignement its all the same thing

find somewhere that has a proper 4 lazer alignment system for the perfect set up

Sorry I was wrong the bloke said suspension geometry to! Apparently there's a garage near me that for £70 will do it custom or as original, does that seem good? I thought it was quite hefty for only the one wheel thats out?

It all means the same mate. Tracking, wheel alignment, suspension geometry, 4 wheel set up.

£70 is about right. As said they car set it to what ever settings you want ie for a track set up or fast road set up.

I'm sure it's been talked about on here before

Ah I see maybe worth paying a little extra and going there then! Phoned a few local motor factors to see if I could pick up a rear lower wishbone arm and one said they wouldn't supply something like its a dealer only part!! The other quoted £127!!!
eBay special it is!! £50!!
