A new owner, saying Hi :)

Hi all,

For starters, hope everyone had a great christmas, and happy new year. I've decided to see the new year in with a fresh set of wheels, and have just got myself up a 2008 Evo X FQ360, which I'm collecting on Monday (this weekend *cannot* go any quicker!)

I've previously always been a Honda man, and spent the last 7 years very happily riding around in 2001 DC5 Integra Type-R. But as Bob Dylan once said, the times they are a changin'. I'm looking forward to getting to know the in's and out's of Evo's now

That said, if anyone has any advice for a first time owner (Do's and don'ts, how not to end up around lamp post!) I'd appreciate it. I'm not a stranger to powerful cars (I've spent quite a bit of time driving American Muscle cars),but this feels a very different beast.

Anyways, thats all really. Just thought I'd say hi! I'll post up a couple of pictures of my new pride and joy once I pick it up and take a couple of decent ones.

Just a few for you there mate. Book yourself a few days off work and get to know it and dont hide it away when the white stuff arrives

I love a bit of overzealous driving as much as the next guy, but I've long since grown out of partaking in the traffic light grand prix with every Focus and Golf that revs up next to me

Tuning wise, I'll no doubt get the bug I suspect. I kept my Integra standard after spending thousands on a Honda CRX turbo build previously. This Evo's already had a bit of work done, and has a dyno reading of 401 bhp (the 1 makes all the difference...!). We'll see how long I can hold off

While I remember, I've been searching for a recommended place for servicing near to me. Anyone have any recommendations?

It would seem the two closest places that are cropping up are Auto Torque in Aylsebury (which isn't *that* close) or Eurospec in Guildford.

Anyone know of anywhere they would give a thumbs up to, closer to London?

I'm based in SW London, well Kingston to be precise. I'll have a look at Dynotech. As it stands Eurospec is the closest. But I'm not against travelling to get the best service and value I guess
