a little Mod

Hiya peops, hope alls well and being good!! :angel:

Just thought ild show a pic of my new airbox mod. ild been toying with the idea for a few weeks erming and aaring....Delving into the previous history and chatting to the guy who had it before me via email that made my mind up as he had had a decat, induction, Apexi Avc-r and remap to 387bhp "getting him to send me a scanned copy" basicly a stage 1. mitsi had it back of him as he traded for a X and they put a cat back on, he took the apexi back for his X and the standerd box was put back on "all the HKS piping left though :razz:.

So I had the Decat done Yesterday, got meself a HKS Hybrid airfilter. and played with the airbox today and heres the result.....

And with both these done, its amazing how much the Cat was restricting it and i dont care what anyone says the box mod seems to have mad a dif, The whole car feels dif. Just smells a lil richer for obviase resons.

so what have you done cut a square in the top and meshed it, oh yeah it will make a big difference in performace,

I did that originally with my air box but not that neat and tidy so looked gash how ever worked a treat while I had it on

Didn't say the airbox made a dif, only a loader suction noise. the decat did!! "thx for the sarcasm" The airbox ain't quite finnished yet. Gonna mount another force feed on the righthand side of the box.

Sarcasm where? Letting more air into the box will like you say make it louder but there will be gains too whether you notice or not a cold feed will simply help it breath better with colder air. All I said was I done the same thing just less pro looking......

Sorry not you buddy evo4032 said something that sounded a little of, but its all good... And thx, I was quite proud with the look should have the extra feed in by nxt wknd,

No he is just clarifying what mod you have done mate as he has an aftermarket filter on his car since he has had it so possibly not too familiar with the box on the Evo.

Not a bad job there mate

Cold air feed and aftermarket filter and job done in my opinion, unless its a hks filter then best not bother as my be fishing leaves out your turbo

Haha mate there wernt any sarcasim in that post i put up, i went back and read it and it does like i was bieng sarcastic, so ill apologize now, like FQ Craigus said i dnt now what the standard air box looks like on a evo 9 as iv got a 8 and it had a aftermarket one on when i got it, and was asking if you had cut a square into the top and meshed it? and yes you will improve performance by doing that to :razz:

No worrys buddy, can be read in 2 dif ways I guess its cool nps. I'll get some finnished photos up at the wknd of another force feed going into the box. :awesome:
