A blessing in disguise....

Hi all,

As some of you may be aware i was unable to attend the RR day last week as i was off work sick with the worst case of man flu i have ever experienced in my life....
I was Laid up for 3 days solid, the Quack said that i was run down and exhausted (which obviously didn't help:sad.... I was gutted...

So anyway, spent friday, saturday and sunday on the sofa with all manor of cough cold and flu remedies close to hand and feeling very sad and sorry for myself... Guttted i'd missed my chance on the rollers.

Seeing this the misses "bless her heart" spent ages on the laptop and found a 4x4 rolling round near to us that could fit me in for today... was relatively priced though, so couldn't complain..

However, money well spent... The guy was an absolute genius....:razz: Money definately well spent in my eyes.

The results were as follows:

1st run - 313.6bhp @0.8 Bar boost????!!!! Turns out i had a faulty boost solenoid... It was siezed partially shut and was inoperable!!!!!!.... Will add photos soon...

Some time later with this replaced with a new one, run two commenced....

365.8bhp @1.6 bar boost - Much Better

After several more runs there turned out to be an issue with a small intermittent tapping coming from the cam area.. This interfered with the ecu which then kept dropping boost to prevent detonation...Turns out it is what is called a "lazy....something"... Cant remember the exact name.

Anyway, the cars going in to have the "tappets" replaced and another procedure to prevent this from happening again.... I'll replace the Induction kit and Dump Valve and then I'll have it mapped again... Am hopefull the car should reach atleast 400bhp.

As explained in previous posts i felt that the car was not performing well and was concerned at the "hunting" / issues i was having... I always knew it was capable of more hence the 4 garage visits........ and numerous bills incurred because of this....

Car feels like it should now, tight, powerful and endless revs.... and oh so much fun!!!

Cant wait to get the tappits sorted now and other bits to see the next power increase.... Just Wish i had found Zen 6 months ago....

how was your car making 313 at 0.8bar when mine is only making 315 at 1.1bar?

what diffrence should that make its boost pressure isnt it if my pressure is greater then my boost level should be

I gnow he is running different cams and forged but think he has a 9 turbo which is bigger so more power same pressure

Geof is running 2:00 bar boost on his 9 turbo and I'm running 2:00 bar on my 3076 turbo and I have nearly 100 bhp more than him so see it's not all about the pressure
