hey people, this is one for the experts!, first mystery connector in part of loom, blue female crimp type!

second, a black and white wire with redundant blue connector, coming straight out of the coil pack loom...

last but not least, hanging out the bottom of the bumper, its not a fog light or a washer bottle motor connector, cant see anything it goes too?
anything to do with air con? cos that's all been ripped out in the past!!

any ideas people?!! also my car has a de cat but no wires to the old sensor in sight, anyone know where the cat sensor wires actually come from? as Id like to put out the cat overheat light on my dash!

thanks V much everyone!!

1st is a test connector. I think for the fuel pressure.
2nd is or was a resistor attached
3rd is I believe a connector for the aircon

wow your good!!
I thought it was probably nothing to worry about!

okay so do you know where the wires that go to the cat sensor originate from?! ive had a thorough look underneath and there is the de-cat and... nothing! someone has got rid of the wires altogether! but maybe if I know where they came from I can put some back and connect them together to put out the dash light!!

I think it has actually! THATS probably what its for :)
yes it has the big main fan on the right inside the engine bay and a smaller one on the left on the outside of the radiator! I bet that's it!

Yeah most probs mate, just follow the wire and see if it defo goes to the fan, but you may aswel just get rid of it if its doing nout few quid too if you sell it :)

Ive got the first plug on my eclipse, possible it does the same but mine is for powering the fuel pump to drain out the tank!

hmmm!

thanks everyone! its good to find out these things!

now to find out what makes the strange mini supercharger whine when the car is running!
gotta get the serpentine aux belt off and check the things that that runs!
I suppose I must have a redundant air con compressor too? I wonder if that's what might be whining?!

Actually that noise can sometimes be that the crank damper is on its way out, im pretty certain you evo folks have the same damper style as us.

I know it sounds strange to think that but it is a fact that this is the last item they tend to look at as the culprit! It might not be in yours but just a suggestion

Yeah you'll need to take off the air comp pump and get your self a RS AUX belt, that will by-pass the A/C pump :)

hmm

worth looking into, although the motor has just had a thorough re-build so I really hope not!!
got to get that serpentine belt off then run the car for a sec and see if the noise disappears!

ah rs aux belt, of course, cos the rs model is lightweight, basic and has no a/c

im thinking it could be the redundant pump, cos its just sat there spinning, empty!!
