3 light help Evo 9

The dreaded 3 lights on my 9 keep popping up? When I first start the car up it's fine for abit but then once it's been given alittle stick all the lights come on . Does this mean the pump is on its way out or could it be something simple .

could be some simple wiring prob which would be best case scenario, check the fluid level make sure its not dropped if not poss pump

read the fault code

small bit of wire linked betweeen pins 1 & 4 on the obd port. turn on ignition and count the flashes from the ayc lights, long flashes 10's short flash units

Rite , iv connected pin 1 and 4 and I'm getting 8 slow lights flash then 2 fast 1s I'm guessing is 82 .. What does this mean ... Thanx again

code 82 is pump fail.

they wearout inside and usually fail to produce enough pressure.
sometimes a fluid change can resolve this so perhaps get that changed first.

do you have someone ie a dealer or evo specialist that can do this ?

usuallly when the pump fails to make enough pressure it can trigger the pressure switch as being at fault but its not the switch failing its the presure switch picking up that there is not enough pressure.

some people fit an adjustable switch but this is just cheating cos the system need to maintain enough pressure to function properly. fitting a lower pressure switch is just cheating to get the lights out.
