Hi as stated above I'm 23, 5 years no claims, social use only up to 4000 miles per year.

What should I be expecting? Any other young evo drivers out there got something I can compare to and know what to expect!!

Thanks.

Depends on the model mate. When i was 21 i paid £1200 with admiral, 3 years ncb, few basic mods on an e4, up to 12000 miles a year. I am in a good area for insurance though.

It's mainly down to the area. I was 24 when I got mine and paid 1500 on the 8 dnt think I did as much homework as I should have though

£3000+ I would think, if you can get covered at all. Depends on the Evo. VIII's onward seem much easier and cheaper to insure.I couldn't get insurance on a VI until I was 29 and it was £2k, that was with max no-claims, clean license and garaged in a good postcode.Tried to get one at 27 and not one company would quote me, yet got a quote for an VIII FQ300 for £870...

Read my post above mate?
Insurance is just made up numbers with no reason most of the time though. Lol

This is crazy.

The best I've got so far is £2000

But I can insure a 54 reg Impreza sti for £1195????

The quotes I have been getting are for an evo 8 260.

These quotes were just through confused.com and haven't tried any specialists.

I've set my heart on one now though so will keep getting quotes! Lol

Don't help with the increase last year.. Previous car history can help with some specialists but like said under 25 many now won't insure or offer totally stupid quotes.

Good luck

Yeah I am yet to get under 2k. Haha. It's mad. All that money for something most of us never need/use!!

I will try tesco then and see what they can do. My Astra vxr with mods declared was only £889.

See what happens.

Try Pace Ward. (you can find them online)

They will want to know what previous cars you have owned and any performance ones may help.

Like mentioned, it's area you live and age that count most also some wild variations based on what your job is!

Also most people who have cheaper quotes stated here probably haven't had their insurance come up for renewal yet, that will be a shock when they do!! Premiums have gone up across the board by around 25% as general rule.

If you only using as second car, limited mileage and standard UK model will help. Although if you do plan on doing mods its worth telling Pce Ward or your insurer that even if its standard. I had this problem on an old car, phoned up declared a mod I had done (remap and induction) they said they couldnt cover and had to move companies!

So best even if standard they try ad put you with a company that is receptive to mods if thats your plan.

Good luck and keep trying. I'd stick with specialist performance insurance companies if I was you.

Thought Tesco were part of Admiral? Admiral don't insure Evo's or Impreza's at all now, stopped a few years ago. They still quote for them online for someone but if you phone and ask they don't cover them. Not just me, quite a few mates have been told that by them too

Where do people get this crap from? No offence mate but i have a CURRENT policy with admiral on my evo, i started it last feb when i first bought the car. Ive renewed it in the last few weeks, so yes, they DO insure evo's.
