oil problems

hi my evo 6 needs the engine oil topped up it was serviced with silkolene 10,50 and is due a service,but id like to top it up as it is being serviced in march is it safe to top up with any fully syn oil as i cant get silkolene locally any advice be great

it is not advisable to mix oils

get yourself a can of silcolene :)
opie oils is the best and cheapest place to get it :):)

As lee said get on to opie oils. Good price and good service from them

Mixing oils does not matter at all as long as they are the same grade and synthetic or semi what ever there are only 3 oil producers in the world so chances are its the same or very similar stuff I use shell helix off the shelf in most shell petrol stations

Would have thought so yea.

I'm a bit of a believe that you stick to the same brand. Although there are many brands making the same grade of oil but they all have there own blend.

It's a bit like its a bit like drinking 4 pints of Stella then having a pint of fosters. You'd object I'm sure lol :)

I use magnex semi synthetic 10.40, but I always thought it was best not to mix oils too, ah well I learn something new everyday :)
