It recirculates air to prolong the life of the turbo but at higher revs dumps air for better throttle response

Na it's not bein thick buddy I'll be honest there is a lot to learn I thought I knew a bit about cars until I bought an Evo and if you don't learn you will go bankrupt putting the car in garages for silly lil things

You could drive your car without a bov but not without a waste gate. If you have a standard turbo you will not see the waste gate but if you didnt have one or it got stuck closed you would run unlimited boost.

A waste gate is not a type of blow off valve, it is a part of the turbo system that re-directs exhaust fumes to control the speed of the turbo core.
