i am just about to change my power steering rack in a evo 4 can you give me a idea of what fluid i need and how much its likly to cost please .

am fitting a rs rack to a gsr if it makes any differance .

It needs a Dexron 2 or higher ATF.

If you want the best, go for the Redline D4, Amsoil ATF or Fuchs 5000. As a cheaper option, the Castrol Dex III, Fuchs 4000/5005, Motul Dexron III or Gulf ATF MV will be fine.
