High Mileage

I was just wondering if people get worried about high mileage on their Evos?

My car is currently on 78,000 miles and i do roughly 10,000 miles a year so after two years, i'll nearly be hitting the 100k mark!! :hm:

I know a lot of you are probably going to say that if you look after the engine properly then there shouldnt be any problems so i guess i just wanted someone to tell me that they own an Evo with over 100k miles and it still feels solid.

Um, well my old VII engine was pulled apart after 65k and found no wear what so ever.

Not to sure if there any high mileage stuff on here. Several have had re builds done purely to fit stronger parts to take more power so I guess we wait and see what people post up :)

As long as you keep it serviced, it'll be fine. Gone are the times of old when 100,000 miles was death for an engine. Evo's have been known to go to 200,000 miles and still pull strong :)

Mines done just over 115,000, no reciepts or evidence of a rebuild. Good compression across all 4 cylinders, no smoke and just the usual lash adjuster tap. And thats the "weak" evo 4 engine running 1.2 bar boost.

78k for a 12 year old car is VERY low mileage!
Stevo_V on the MLR has well over 150k on his Evo V although it's been forged at 100k, and iirc Andy Fox has nearly 200k on his Evo VIII on the original engine...

Its reassuring to hear of personal experiences.
I guess its never really the end of an engine as you can always change the internals if need be or even buy another engine.

Thanks guys and hope you all had a good Christmas!
