From just the video, (ie i havent read any goss) it looks like the evo is coming round a corner and is on the edge of grip. Applys throttle which puts more stress on the rear as weight transfers back and the halfshaft applys torque which then results in a loss of grip. Hence it comes round.
Easily done but looks expensive

if you watch the vid again you will see the n/s/r tyre is on the wet painted line so lose of grip plus going down hill and he had the momentum of slighty turning right hence the crash.
