Other people taking pictures of your car

I have a question regarding copyrights and permission to do with taking pictures.

I've attended a track day at castle combe and when I was on track my car was photographed (don't mind) but then those people are trying to sell me those photos at £15 each. my question is that as its private land, and my car belongs to me and I haven't given permission to them, can they do this? As I believe if its on public ground then you can take a picture of what ever but on private land its different and permission has to be granted.

your having a laugh right??? that means ill be due a fortune from people taking piccys of mine you dont have to buy them do you?? as you drive up to santachav they take piccys of your car and you can buy them but you dont have to. same as alton tower rides you dont have to buy the piccys.

Most circuits have terms in the tix that any photography or video belongs to them. Other than that no, copyright is the togs.

sort of see where your coming from mate. its kind of wrong if they want to charge you for pics if they have confronted you about buying them cos then they are just making money from it. i dont see a problem however if its the usual regular photographer that is invited to a track day to take pics and has an area set up to view all the pics he/she has taken of you during the day then purchase one from them at a size of your choice and framed

Andy, ask them to delete them if you're bothered about it, but i'm sure they've got a get out clause somewhere.

The people offering them were just there on the day. I was just interested really in this and wondered if I could request them without having to pay for them (I'm cheap I know ) as the subject belongs to me.

not a bad idea though

normally at combe you get asked if you want them to take pics of you, if you say yea then they will put an orange sticker on windscreen. you drive, they snap then you view them in the tavern after. you dont have to buy them

Heres one for you the insurance companys are paying people to take pictures of cars and bikes on trackdays so if you stuff it and then make a claim saying you swerved to miss a penguin they will tell you to do one!!

Insurance companies also send reps to car shows to look at cars and check the database against uninsured cars and also to see if the spec list adds to whats on the car. A few guys got done a 2 years ago at a show for that
