Most likely going to make a wally out of myself however here it goes.

Had my evo IV for around 3 weeks now and ive been driving around in a rather exuberant manor as expected, more specifically ive been trying to perfect my traffic light drag!!

Im just wondering how evo's cope when revving above the redline as they seem quite highly strung?

Am i right in saying that if you hit the service intervals and use good quality oils then you should be ok?

yup, you should be ok as long as you keep it serviced regulary.
meaning all the oils etc.
hope you got a good clutch to launch off on'
mine has been changed three times so far this year, i rather roll off now lol

redline is there for a reason,

one of the main weakpoints (tensile weakness) in the engine is the rods in which rpm is part of the killer.

also your making less power above redline than you are at say 6500rpm.

A valid point indeed!!

There comes a point where the valves are opening and closing so fast that they do not make any difference to the performance. The Red Line is there for a reason which is to let you know that the engine is running at a dangerous level.

You would be better off changing your oils every week at the rate you are going buddy!!! It may not make any difference though as cooked oil deposits tend to cling to the internals and hinder optimal efficiency.

My advice is to calm down or you will end up searching the for sale adds for a new engine very soon.
