engine flush, service

Just wondering if you guys think this is a good idea?

do you know if mitsi does this when you have your car serviced?
Been to a couple of new garages and they seem to use this, is it a good idea or is this bad for the engine?

Just been told that is what they do everytime for a service

its not bad for the engine, i wouldnt say you need to do it on every service though. and crap that the oil csnt bresk down should vscated by the flushing solution and fresh top up job done.

I don't like the idea after someone told me that on an older engine the flush could unsettle gaskets/seals and end up causing leaks.

I'd rather use some cheap oil and let it run for a few moments then drain again

its a simple job, take oil filler cap off then drain plug,

take garden hose and run through for a few minutes job done :whistling::whistling: lol

LOL I thought you were being serious.

I rether use cheap oil for flush too but this company swears by it and they did a few evos before. this is why I thought Id better check

You don't need to flush the engine. Get it hot, come back home, get it in the air and drain the oil, take the filter off and drop the lower hose from the oil cooler, pretty much all of it will come out.

I never use it, never have an never will. Drain the oil, fill it up with cheap oil, let it run, drop the cheap oil and refill. However even that is not a must, just if you want to flush, flush with cheap oil then fill with the good stuff after.

I wouldn't flush the engine. as Lee has stated earlier can cause a lot of problems on the older engines! You'll do more damage than good. Use the cheap oil method
