Service advice

Hi guys

My e8 is due a service and seeing as winter is coming up think I should get on with it.

Just need a bit of advice on what people would recommend and also how much can't find the owners manual that tell how much of each oils is required.

Going to be doing engine oil and filter gear box and diff as well as new break fluid.

Any suggestions ?

engine get 5 litres, you wont use it all but will have some for top ups

gearbox 2.8 litres

transfer box 0.6 litres

not sure on what brake fluid to use

5 litres of fuchs Titan race 10/50 for the engine and 5 litres of Fuchs sylk tran 75/90 for the gearbox, transfer and the rear diff or use the new millers one but can't remember what it's called. Search threads on here my oilman or opie oils

Identical to what i have in the engine and all diffs in my 9 GT

10w-50 will probably be a bit thick in winter, more suited to summer really. The 10w refers to how thick is is when cold and the 50 refers to how thick it is when warm.

I use 5w-40 on a road car, 10w will give more wear in the cold than 5w.

I personally use Fuchs Titan Pro S 5w-40 Fully Synthetic Ester engine oil (link... http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1146-si...nthetic-oil-for-high-performance-engines.aspx) (5L bottle),Millers CRX 75w90 fully synthetic gear oil (link... http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60230-m...petition-full-synthetic-transmission-oil.aspx) (5L bottle) for the gearbox, transfer box & rear diff (2.8L + 0.7L + 0.7L = 4.2L total needed). For the AYC I use AmsOil ATF fluid (link... http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1052-amsoil-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-atf.aspx) which meets or exceeds the Dextron III required fluid Mitsi recommend.

All can be obtained from Opie Oils.

Am I right in thinking that after u drain the transfer box and rear diff when it comes to fill up u fill it until it trickles out the filler hole?

Or am I just thinking of the gear box

Yea all the same mate. Helps if you rotate a wheel few times to get the oil moving

While it's draining I assume lol

No, do it when the oil is warm to get it all out.

Rotate the wheels when re filling
Just helps to get the thick oil into everywhere it needs to be
