Hi Wardy buddy!!!

Where have you been all this time???

What's the progress on your GTR project????

I have sent a text message to John Boy on the price for the kit just now. He is no doubt still in bed due to the time difference in Sapporo which is where he is staying with one of my friends whilst trying to hunt down exhausts and suspension legs/coil overs.

I will no doubt fill you in on it at some point tomorrow.

At the risk of going off topic here Wardy,
John Boy has got parts for them all buddy which includes turbo's, running gear, body panels, glass, ECU's, Induction Kits, Blocks, Forged Pistons, Twin and single Plated Clutches.........you get the picture. He has it all, new and used, so worth remembering.

Whatever you need, give me a shout by PM and put John Boys lock up to the test;)

MLR members always talk like they are the authority on Evo's, all they do all day is cut and paste, cut and paste, text each other, cut and paste some more and then go to bed. Some of them don't even leave their beds, they start first thing in the morning, in our Garage we have a couple of MLR members, we refer to them as KEYBOARD WARRIORS. It is always funnny, when an Evo comes in, they agree with what we pretend is the route fault, but when we ask them what they think is the cure they come out with some right old ones!!!! They are a typical example.

El

WTF  SO WHICH COMPANY DO YOU WORK/OWN WHO KNOWS SO MUCH ABOUT EVO'S

WTF:mad: what's wrong with having an opinion???? where does it say in that quote that we are the authorities on the evo and not MLR???? where does it actually say thet MLR are not the authority on the evo, your just knit picking now!!! you sure you aint tabs from MLR pal??? i was 50/50 earlier but i am 90/100 right now.
seems to me that your a disgruntled MLR member looking for pay back, MLR is a GOOD place if you pay, if you don't then you get know where fast, if that's not the truth then ask any of the members here that were freebies over there. whats the subscription renewal ratio over there anyway, just out of interest pal???
i have had evos for many years and never once needed to join a forum for advice, i only joined this one for the chit chat so i cant really wiegh up the pros and cons but at the end of the day i am only speaking for myself when i say that this is a greeeeaaaat place.

i dont think anyone here has to prove themselves to any one else. the facts speak for themselves. I got pissed around by PJ Motorsport for weeks when he shafted one of my evos which was a 3 to be exact several months ago on his cheap ass dyno. he blamed my box he blamed my running gear he blamed the sun and the moon!! i went from garage to garage to get it fixed. a couple of days later i got refered to el and his team by COORDSPORT who used to be part of RalliArt!!! i went there and got sorted within a couple of hours and the price was cool too. i think they have mad skills at his place i am sure other members that have been there will agree too.

while i am on my high horse i would just like to say that IF ANY ONE HERE IS THINKING OF GOING TO PJ THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU JUST SEEK PSYCHIATRIC HELP AS IT WILL BE CHEAPER AND YOUR CAR WONT BLOW UP THE MINUTE IT LEAVES HIS SWEAT SHOP:D

such a friendly bunch on here, as you said, everyone is entitled to an opinion:rolleyes: I dont know much about the mlr, have popped on and have received some good advice and picked up some good info, cant really comment about this site as yet, but you seem to only have 10 members compared to several 1000 on the mlr, and you know what they say about 2 heads been better than 1 :D so go take a chill pill PAL!!!;)

i think the difference is, there may only 134 members currently active on here but thats 134 more members that would be willing to help you out or give advise on a problem you have.

like iv said before, unless you are a paid up member, no one has any time for you on the MLR and why should i pay when (in my opinion) there is a better site right here!!!!

THE THING EVERYONE HAS TO REMEMBER IS......OPINIONS ARE LIKE BUMHOLES, EVERY HAS ONE!!!!!!!!

your missin the point or it could well be that im rambling on here but i aint said that we are better then the MLR or that we are bigger then the MLR. i already said that MLRs a good place. what i suggested is that your an MLR member whos a little disgruntled so i understand where your coming from pal. there are many big boys on the MLR so it cant be bad can it!

as for the 2 heads........ 2 is better then 1 i have to agree only a fool would sisagree, but where i disagree with what you are saying is that on the MLR even though it has several 1000 it still counts as 2 according to you pal:confused: reread your last post and you will see what you have said for yourself:D imo you should have said that 1000 heads is better then 10. now i am off to take a chill pill as i make a point taking great advice on board as soon as!!!

so are you tabs or not pal???

Thats gonna to be my saying for the week pal. NICE ONE lol

Evolution7 i forgot to mention that in the last few weeks i have been surfing MLR and i have to say that i came across a thread where a member asked for cambelt timing settings and was told to make sure his balance shaft belt is not on 360 degrees the wrong way.................what was the point of that???? there was no mention of anything else. is that your idea of helping out????

my apologies to MLR members out there. i aint saying that your a bad lot, just saying that you could do more thats all. we have over 600 members just not all on at the same time. your fellow member chris joined yesterday and was selling his parts within minutes no one told him to post threads and pay fees to be able to do it......you gettin the picture on who the friendlier bunch is???

We actually have over 1400 members Dave. Still a drop in the ocean compared with MLR (52k). But;
MLR and EvoOwners are different. Yes we are not as big. Yes MLR is a subscription site and we are not. I cant comment on how friendly they are over there as i dont really frequent it very much. I do know (in person, not just online) of a few people who moan they have either been ignored or called out on everything they have said on MLR but I cant confirm either way as it was not me and I dont know for sure the exact circumstances. Equally Im sure there will be someone out there pissed at a responce they got here.
So everyone, can we leave the here and there comparison now please.

Time to move on perhaps.........

I second the motion buddy!!!!

We are a different place altogether and if we are to bicker between Forums then what will that achieve???

As far back as I can remember, it was the Skyline boys that used to rip the Evo boys, the Evo boys used to rip the Scooby boys and the Scooby boys used to rip the Pulsar boys........
..........If the Evo boys start to rip the Evo boys then what will we ever acieve as a collective????

If you like MLR then that is good for you, if you don't like MLR then you have a choice..............
The same goes for our little Forum right here. No one is holding a gun to any ones heads.

Dave, I do not need you to back me up here, when I invited you to join, I did it as I thought you would have valid input to contribute, this is in no way what I thought would happen. Evolution7 is right, you really do need to take a chill pill buddy.

When I made that comment I did not make it out of spite, I was round a friends house who is a long time member of the MLR and I posted it up whilst he was watching in disbelief. I was perusing the MLR Forum a couple of nights ago as i do regularly i might add and I found that I had been mentioned on there, in fact the hole thread was based around the comment I had made. I read all the comments and I must say that I was smiling whilst I read the comments as none of the members seemed to be upset or disgruntled, many of them were having a laugh about it and wondering who I am and speculating on which company I work for!!! What a mature bunch of people!!! They saw the funny side of it apart from my brother by the way who was raging as he is an MLR member but that's a different story altogether;)

If any one bothered to read my Blog they would know that I do not claim to be any form of authority on any model of any Evo. What I will say is that my colleagues and I have a combined experience of the Evo's that equates to no less than 35 years. That is 14, 14 and 7 or at least it was when I checked on my calculator a couple of minutes ago.

The inception of Forums was to eliminate the extortionate costs charged by dealers to rectify problems and to get to know like minded individuals at the same time as well as sharing pictures, advice and access to new and used parts amongst each other to mention but a few benefits, something that Dave mentioned a while back if I recall correctly:D
