hi just wont to know wot is the differents between evo 4-7 head can any body help as my 7 head has been damaged thanks:cry:

4 won't fit
5 is different piston shape I believe
6,7 + 8 should fit

I was informed of this info by another tuner/mechanic that works on evo's
Was told the 4 head would not fit any other block and the 5 had more oval pistons than the others so again would not fit any other block
Was only passing on info I had been told when looking to build on my 9 block

So don't be doing a Steve and moaning lol

the head is no different from 4-8 really, the castings do get better as they get newer but thats about it

and if an engine's got even remotely oval pistons then you got issues

the blocks from 5-8 are all pretty much the same and interchangable too.

ok what about a 6 head on a 9 block which water pump?

the 9 block can be used but the thread on the back of the block for the oil pressure switch is too big so needs an adaptor in it..

I know about the oil pressure switch but what about the water pump as theres nearly £100 difference for a 9 specific rather than a std 8 pump

hi it does not matter now it is on the road to recovery three valve guides four valves skim and all laped in can not tell wot coused it all but suspect over heated head do thease evo get any better as this was a 28,000 mile engine from japan and it still broke :shock::shock::shock: i just feel like :cry::cry::cry:but ime not:arms::arms::arms::hm::hm:
