First Evo, 5 or 6?

Just joined this forrum so hello. I'll be getting a Evo 5 gsr or 6 gsr. Personally I prefer the 5 for looks but I'd assume the 6 is quicker. But how much quicker is the 6? What I like better about the 5 is the lights on the boot... If i had the 6 could I change to the lights on the boot?

i have a e4 but if i had to choose between a e5 and e6 my choice would also be the e5 and spend what i saved making it faster .

Yh i'm defo feeling the 5 but what about upgrades etc? Does the 6 beat it for handling etc, bigger turbo?? Sorry to be a newb but I know loads about 206's but knowledge on evos aint good atm. Like is it just the facelift between the 5 n 6?

6's has a stronger engine! And can go to 500 with a rod job! 5's 380ish and cant rod job a 5 piston! Or a 5 with a later engine! I would go with a 6 no a 5 no a 6 **** know's very hard choice! A 5 rs with an 8 Mr engine:awesome:

Evo 5 and 6 both came with 280bhp and both have the same suspension setups.

The engine was improved slightly and tends to handle more power safely otherwise the only differences are the front bumpers and colour of the seats and dials

So like u say 6's are lot better engines. So would there be any way I could stick a 5 boot on a 6, coz i really love them fogs on the boot lid

Cheers guys, except for EVOAPS.... Is there a "hate" button on this forrum? lol I LOVE that. If i get a 5 or a 6 im torn between a black car with black wheels or pure white car with grey wheels..... But tbh I'd be happy with either right now lol..

I know I havnt even got the car yet but how difficult or price range would it be to put lets say a fq 400 engine in?

Performance wise they're identical. The 6 engine was improved a little and can have a rod job. I think the oil pathways were improved too?
The 5 has a harder wearing interior. You'll struggle to find a 6 without a worn seat bolster.

Just look at both and pick the best example you can find in your budget.

Personally I wouldn't put a 400 engine in just get it remapped with stage on 1 mods exhaust airfilter boost controller fuel pump and you will easy see 340-370bhp and maybe some cams would get you close to 400.

I drag raced another evo 5 which was forged evo 9 turbo and supposed to be around the 400 mark in my old 5
Which was just remapped and the 2 cars were identical going down the quarter mile I bearly beat me only because I changed gear too early

I wouldn't want to run a 6 engine to 400 bhp. Those figures are for MR and Evo 9 engines only as they have thicker rods. Earlier engines will require a rod job or a forged re-build

dessimpson - my budget is 7k and for that I can get a great 5 or a good 6. I really love the 5 but i know wht=ats gonna happen. Im just gonna want power, power n more power haha.

evoaps - ok i'll prob do that then, prob cost a bomb for the engine too

it's got to be black with silver wheels :O)

works for me :O) but evoaps black on black dose look good ;O)

and i think the 5 boot will fit the 6 but you might as well just buy a 5 , imho
