OK
Sorted the AYC casing that was cracked around the outer AYC pipe.(someone overtightened the nut). Now I dont think my AYC system is working. I am wondering if on cracking the casing and badly patching it, they disabled the AYC so that it would not leak so much without pump pressure.
I dont have the AYC light on the dash when I turn on the ignition and I cant hear the pump running. Any clues as to where the system is likely to have been imobilised.
Thanks

1- check the bulb in the dash
2- not sure where but there is possibly a power connection that has been disconnected.
Thats the only way I know of to disable the pump ....

ayc fault

OK, put new buld in dash and everything appeared ok. ayc light came on when turned on ignition and went out after few seconds. Went to lakes yesterday and light came on while driving and stayed on. Switched car off and fault cleared came on again once more over the weekend. On the 2 hour return journey did not come on at all.
Checked fault codes with 1 and 4 pin system and fault 82 flashed up which is saying ayc pump.
Does anyone know if the system needs bleeding would it show this fault. When I changed the diff case I had trouble bleeding the ayc system, no fluid came out, so maybe need to try again. Any thoughts anyone.
