Been a bit busy lately but just a heads up to And at FCM and the rest of the lads at FCM in Bristol. Had the Evo 8 mapped and she drives lovely, the flat spots at low RPM have gone (poor previous map by another "specialist"). The engine management light has been disabled for 2nd lambda (as the cat has been removed and light was staying on) and a Valet mode has also been set. Had a boosting issue too which I knew about when I bought the car, turned out to be a faulty EGR valve which was diagnosed and fixed at FCM.

Really enjoying the car, the on boost smile makes my jaw ache! :awesome:

I can't be 100% sure the company is to blame so I dont want to shame anyone. But what I will say is the car is miles better now.
I have an invoice from the company that mapped the car previously and it stats that engine detonation occured with less ignition timing than would be expected and that the cause is thought to be low quality fuel. What I believe is that the EGR valve was faulty back then too. Obviously, if the EGR valve is allowing hot exhaust gas' back into the inlet, charge temps would be raised increasing the chance of knock. There were other issue's with the boost solenoid and boost controller but once again I cant be sure it was the company at fault or a friend/previous owner that tampered with it. That said, I can't see these issue's causing low rpm flat spots.
