hi folks.
has anyone ever used or know anyone who has used a hydrogen generator on thier car.
i've done quite alot of looking into these just lately and they seem to be a very big up and coming thing to have on your car.
i'm currently in talks with a supplier and its looking pretty good so far and hope in the near future i will be able to offer a supply and fit service on all vehicles.
just looking for any feedback that anyone has about these units to see if its a viable road to go down.
can imagine a turbo car would run mint on it as its cooling down the exhaust fumes.

I hope you're not talking about one of these pieces of junk that claim to electrolyse water and produce HHO gas which is then drawn in to the inlet tract of the engine. It's a scam, it will not work, cannot work and is basically a pyramid selling scam.

yes it is the exact units mate and sorry to let you down but they do work will work and have been proven to work.
and how can it be a pyramid selling scam, its not a franchise nor does it involve any other parties in the selling of it. its a product you buy off a company and fit it.(no networking involved at all)
pyramid selling is illegal and no longer used.
i have now spoken to 2 engineers who have helped design 2 seperate types of units and both work.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I think you'll find your money wasted if you buy one and if you look on the right places you'll see it doesn't work, for very sound scientific reasons - show me the 'evidence' and I mean evidence - not bullcrap, that it's been proven to work. I could tell you the science (a subject I have a certain level of expertise in :D) but I wont go down that road unless you ask. The scheme as operated in the US is indeed a pyramid selling scheme. I took your original post to read that you were going to be offering these 'supply and fit' to other users, that's an offer I hope no-one takes up (pyramid - networking?) Either you're an innocent potential victim of a scam or are about to become part of or perpetrate a scam. BTW you started off by asking a question about the efficacy of these things and now you're sure apparently. To use an americanism, as a business opportunity it sucks.

I have no axe to grind with you, if you think it's going to do some good then buy it and fit it, if you genuinely find an improvement in mpg and performance then I'd be interested - in fact I'd be dumbfounded, tell us all how brilliant it is, convince us all with your evidence - please do, it's an open playing field. Regardless, I wont be rushing out to buy one.

I very much doubt my car would 'run mint on it'. Let's see if yours runs 'mint' on it first shall we?

thats my exact intentions mate.
i would never try and sell something i have not tried on my own car myself.

In reply to this and your pm so everyone can see it, I don't mean to brow beat you into submission. By all means make your own choices. I just believe this stuff is such a fraud.

There's two basic principles that this system, and there are many variations of it on the internet, are trying to beat. Conservation of energy and the first law of thermodynamics, quite well founded principles of Physics - both are about saying you can't get something for nothing (to keep it not too technical). In other words, for this 'system' you start off with water and electrolyse it using electricity from the alternator on the car, that takes energy (from the car's engine - by burning petrol), you then burn the gas, HHO, or Brown's gas as otherwise known in the car's engine (along with Petrol) and get some of that energy back in the engine - the process of electrolysis isn't 100% efficient, neither is the process of conversion of combustion to mechanical energy, so you're backing a loser from the outset, you can't even get back what you put in, some energy goes off in heat an fundamental ineffciencies of of an Internal Combustion Engine. That's the underlying principle, there's no mechanism for excess energy and therefore mpg improvement at the basic level, that really shoots it down for me without anymore argument. Tell me where the excess energy is coming from would be my challenge to these people.

However, just to indulge the argument that these people finesse it with, they talk about efficiency improvements in the combustion of Petrol by the addition of HHO (that sounds almost plausible as a mechanism until you look into it) and also go on about a catalytic effect of introducing HHO (they don't seem to understand what a catalyst is for a start - something that's consumed as part of the process is not a catalyst), I've even read some stupid 'theories' about cold (or cooled ) fusion and zero point energy to attempt to explain why this system miraculously works, but none of them do know why it works, none are scientists, none can prove it works under controlled conditions and all are either indulging in wishful thinking or a conscious fraud, it doesn't work. None of these slightly more sophisticated arguments stand up in any controlled test of this technology, there are some moderately controlled tests are out there by the American press and Automotive Societies for example.

They, in particular the American websites trying to sell and promote this stuff, have an awful behaviour of hitting every critical website and forum with anecdotes about how it works (fake ID's and multiple accounts and all that), and that is the basis of the scam. You get all your mates and so on to go on every website you can find and contradict anyone that says this doesn't work and make startling claims. If this was a genuine and workable scheme would it not be much easier to promote than they seem to struggle with? There's one particular promoter/inventor of this technolgy who despite all his high claims has always refused tests of his claims under controlled conditions.

And if you read more about the conspiraciy theories, inventors dying in suspicious circumstances and the technlogy being covered up or the patents being bought, I mean please, seriously, we can all buy this basically simple kit or designs for it and have a go. It's largely an internet myth - that's an opinion I grant you. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to think there's something in this that mainstream science has missed, I'm not that arrogant a scientist to believe that we know everything, I just don't see it in this particular 'technology' without evidence. Come back to my point, show me the evidence, not anecdotes from poeple who can't be trusted.

Equally, if you do fit it and can show genuine evidence of it working I'd be the first to be insterested, in fact I'll promise to promote it for or with you, but I think the likelihood of that is pretty slim.

Not wishing to ram the point home :D, but one of the popular websites in the US that promotes and sells this system with all sorts of claims about improvements and how it's being concealed from the public also offers on the same page an electrical device with which you can turn tap water into 'healing water', like we all believe that don't we? :hm:

i'm getting your point brian but like you said, we can only hope and wish that this does actually work.
as far as i'm aware bendy buses in london do run on 100% hydrogen engines, unless i've been misinformed about that too.
as for the energy you take out of the engine to produce the HHo, an alternator produces on average 14 to 14.5 volts for a 12 volt battery, so there is 2 to 2.5 volts of wasted energy being produced already.
i'm not a scientist nor a qualified mechanic, i'm just an optomist.
i'm going to get one of the units i've seen and give it a try (on my wifes car lol) kill hers first and i promise you will get true honest results and feedback about if it works and how well it does, i'm not out to con people to make a quick quid (i have a conshents) unlike the guys you mentioned.
thats all i can do mate.

Oh where do I start. Please don't buy into this shit.

Bendy buses or any other vehicle that run on 100% Hydrogen get the fuel from a source, the source has to come from somewhere yes??, I hope you'll agree on that. They get it in much the same way that we all fill our cars with Petrol, i.e. it's prepared somewhere else, not on the vehilce. Bendy buses or whatever that use a hydrogen fuel cell which converts H2 with atmospheric Oxygen to electricity - that's fundamentally different from the system you're talking about buying into.

As for the difference between voltages on an alternator, you really do not understand what's going on there so much so that I find it so hard to even try to explain. But I'll try. Alternators are driven by the engine which consumes energy, there's no excess energy or 'magical' energy as you would almost have it - you're being duped by these 'engineers' you're talking to - they certainly aren't sceintists or engineers of any worth I promise you that. Your's are not even weak arguments, they're fallacious, i.e. based on a falacy.

Mate, go buy it, fit it, come back and tell us all about your experience, and then go and sue the blokes that sold it to you. Don't matter to me, so long as you don't sell this myth to anyone else.

A fool and his money are easily parted. Optimism in the face of evidence and advice is another word for stupidity. I'll offer to do you a favour, you tell me who these 'engineers' are that are trying to sell you this kit and let me talk to them, I feel that strongly about it, I will talk to them. PM me and I'll give you a phone number that we can speak on, please don't waste your money.

That's pretty much my last word on this subject.

No mate sorry but after spending so many hours on the tinternet looking up and reading about HHo generators, the only people who seem to be arguing the fact that it will not and cannot work are scientists.
i've looked at so many adverts and they all say the same, but then you look at all the individual people who have made thier own also say the same.
they do work and have been proven to work in various different ways, IE: a police department in america ran a fleet of suv's on it for a month and saw a significant difference in fuel consumption.
also many different people have proven that a 2 to 6 amp load on a car battery makes no difference to the economy of the car, which means no extra load on the engine and no extra fuel consumption.

Do what you want mate. Why do you think perhaps that people with a scientific training might have a better appreciation of this system than an idiot that doesn't or someone who's trying to promote it to an idiot to make money - hmmm, did you ever think about that? Can't be bothered talking to you anymore. I think you're either playing for the sake of it (that's pretty evident - I shouldn't have got drawn in) or are just trying to convince yourself that a few hundred quid spent on some high priced junk is gonna save you a fortune and make your car run like a dream into the bargain. Do yourself and me a favour and buy a kit, then come back on here bleating about how you've wasted your money.

All your little anecdotes about Amps and Volts and so forth are so technically flawed, it's not even worth trying to answer them.

Just don't sell this crap to anyone else. And, please, no-one else buy it.

well to say my original post was asking if anyone else had dealings with one of these units or knew anyone and all of a sudden i'm an idiot thats doesn't know what they're talking about.
i forgot scientists know everything about everything.(remind me why can bumble bees fly)?
so i'll end it with this and you keep your half bent unproven opinions to yourself bwian and i will mine.
end of.
