Probably daft question but any easy way of knowing if your map has launch control?

I understood that most ecutek maps have this built in.

When I rev my car at idle the revs 'bounce' is this a sign?

Furthemore I guess I could just stick it in 1st gear, engage gear with cluthc and hold it back on the handbrake and then just let the clutch out and hand brake off at the same time and see!!

However, with Lauch control would it limit me over-revving while stationary, say preventing me from pushing the revs past 4.5K for example?

I know my map is screwed at the moment and the boost has been meddled with by some oik and I havent had it properly sorted yet but would be interesting to know.

Lee, you must be the expert on quick starts now :)

Launch control basically holds the revs at a chosen point. Ie somewhere between 4.5k-6k

It usually just works when stationary and with your foot flat in the throttle.
I wasn't aware that ecutech had thus facility but I do know that it can be done on some standard ecu's and when using ecuflash instead of ecutech.

I'm sure rob or And will confirm :)

Easy way to check it car clutch down and rev till it stops around 4.5-5k and bounces if it keeps going to 6k + then no launch control mate:(

I guess some people get on with it and some don't. Going by my 0:75 second improvement on my 60ft time i clearly get on better without it :)
