Evo 8 260 uk version

mine was a 260, you can always find lots of ways to tune up a 260 mate.

im not after tuning it up i just want a evo that wont cost a crazy amount to run. Think im gonna end up with a red one too dont think they did grey ones.

Dunno about grey I very much doubt it as i thought it was an MR colour but you can get them in black

thats the difference that makes yours 40bhp more than mine standard, if you want more power what mods yu gonna do?

the cams aint nothing special and if you ask anyone who tunes cars they will tell you that you wouldnt notice the difference between the two cams. And as for the rest of the stuff like climate control and electric folding mirrors, rear wiper etc thats all extra weight as you have more wiring as well, another wiper motor etc etc, craig for everything you come up with to put a downer on the 260 ill have the answer. last thing 5 speed box is stronger than the 6 speed and isnt anymore fuel effiecent than the 5 both will do 70mph at 3k rpm in top gear.

I don't know why you get so wound up mate lol its banter.

The air intake on the fq's is good for up to just under 400 so no need to replace for a sensible map, yes a decat would be needed 50 squid I got mine for a 3 port will be like 45 quid and gauges vary depending on what style you want, fuel pump and with a decent map you can be looking at around the 360 to 385 Bhp area.

At no point did I say the 260 isn't tuneable and like I said in one of my previous posts is if you are looking at doing some real serious mods and going crazy with it it doesn't matter which one you get you may as well save the money up front but with serious mods SOME people not all make their cars undrivable. How ever the fq range no matter how subtle you may think the differences are out of the box less effort and monies is needed to acheive the figures that most are after.

You know there is nothing wrong with your car gaz but you seem to take offence none intended but you are the one who took the spoiler off to look like a vectra and as for the tree incident well.... Lolz its all banter buddy

im not fussed hence why i finished the post with love from tree hugger lol

i took the spoiler off to go more U.S look as every evo is starting to look the same these days, i know its hard not to as the parts available are nice and you look at one car and you want that on yours.

midd if you want a cheaper evo to insure and road tax ( not all evos have huge road tax before someone points it out) and are happy to run with 260bhp for a while then get the 260, you can always buy a big spoiler or get one that has the optional big spoiler already fitted. a few mods like mine thou in years to come and you will be around the 360-380 mark.

would'nt mind this but for a little cheaper

hope you find a nice one, make sure you check the passenger kick panel, take the panel off and see if there is any water damage on the plugs if there is it will help you with the price and also check that everything works on the car, wipers, washers, etc as those plugs control most things.

midd if you offered me £8500 for mine straight out you can have mine right here right now you know the spec and its pushing the numbers, has two maps low map for cheap fuel 95 ron and low boost and high boost 1.7 and v power.

I couldnt afford to run it, if i could i would probally go for the fq300 simply because you can get it in metalic grey but im pushing my limits with the 260....dont wanna be left with no spending money you lot must be loaded. Me insurance is £1800 and i drive 20 miles just to work and back every day so i have to be sensible. Yours will sell for 10k on piston heads with all them mods and it stands out too with no spoiler on havent seen any like it in sunderland.

If your looking for fuel economy an Evo is not the car for you mate

Gaz said his car is also mapped for cheap fuel and low boost?

Why dont you look for one which has been converted to LPG?

Im willing to put 50/60 a week in it but i imagine a 400bhp evo would take 100 or more and the way i see it if i get any other car i will waste me money because that wont be what i want unless its a audi s3 which it 17k so i chose the evo.

this week so far (starting from sat) i filled my car to half a tank £30 on the cheap stuff and today im just over 1/4 of a tank left and ive done easy 20 miles plus every day.

fuel costs really are not that bad unless you always drive it heavy footed!!! 20 miles isnt that bad every day.... it would be alot worse if you were doing say 4 or 5!!
