hi i am in the prosess of putting an engine in my evo what do you think air con in or out !!!!!

I'd want it in for resale only as i don't ever use it but does save weight.

a up goon the trouble is my pipe work at the mo there fine i keep bending the pipe cus it gets in the way so if it does crack a pipe and i turn in to the goon from stoke i will have to make up my mind wether to keep and repeir or get rid will find out tommorow wen the engine gose in got it drest today:whistling::whistling: not looking forwerd to sorting out all the turbo pipes though:wtf::hm::hm:

Track Slag= NO (eats up too much weight)

Im sure there was tests done on a normal road car with fuel economy with air con on and one with no air con and window down, the drag created by the window was only a tiny amount (im talking tenth of a mile) better than the air-con so dont worry about economy LOL

However no aircon would save weight therefore reducing load on tyres, fuel economy and handling ....all be it only a tiny amount (it may not even be noticeable tbh)

i took mine out, was either that or sooner or later i was going to end up with a fire cos the pipe that loops back up round by the exhaust mani used to keep touching the manifold and so if you look at my avatar youll see what happens to my manifold when on full boost in fifth gear

i then removed the pump and rest of the pipework in the engine bay

the pipes are very thin and soft metal so be carefull cos they are aalso very high presure, oh and the gas is toxic so dont breathe it in

When I had a subaru I took the air con belt off and it made a bit of different to the power my mate took his aircon out and gained about 15percent more power so he told me but you could actually feel the power difference in his motor got my aircon belt and unit in my Evo as it gets too hot nowadays in the summers and if your on the motorway then the window down is too noisy so I hope that helps you make your decision mate.
