Alcon fronts and rear Brembos

When my Alcons finally arrive for my car will I be experiencing uneven breaking withe the Alcon front set up and Brembo rear.

the rears are standard discs and pads.

I know I will get some but will it be very noticeable and make the car unsteady on the rear when heavy braking ?

Can I just uprate the rear discs and pads to counter this or will I need to go Alcons all round.

Is there a suspension/handling mod that will counter act this ?

70% of the braking is at the front i personally think it will not make that bigger difference in my opinion

You will notice a slight hover from the rear under heavy breaking. My mate did with his IX so we fitted a set of xp8 rear pads and he said the difference was night an day so much better with xp8 in the read

No mate 8's do not squeal !
He also ditched the ferodo pads that came with the alcons and fitted xp8's up front too and the thing would stop on a six pence

Yea you can live with it for a while. Car tends to nose dive when stamping on the brakes and so switching to xp8's in the rear helps squat the back down.

Ant I did speak about that to be fair and we said to se how I get on with them and uprat when there knackered but as I may need new pads on the rear I may do it then any way.


Do the Xp8's need bedding in Lee or are they like the blue stuff just start stamping like stampy the elephant :whistling:

You could shell out for Xp10, heard they even better than the 8's.

I assume you going alcons 'cause looking to go big power too as would have thought brembos with decent disc pad combo would hold up pretty good to at least 450bhp

id go straight for the xp8 mate, ter said they had so much more initial bite than the ferodo's

im not to sure when you have new discs cos i was told that discs need to be heat cycled as well as pads.

xp8 come with bedding in process. 70-30 med braking a few times alow to cool then repeat but hard breaking alowing to cool in between. or something like that. lol

xp8 in the rear will be ample for a road car mate. youll also be enough for track use

no mate. xp8 are more than enough, i run standard brembos all round with pf discs up front with xp10 pads and standard discs with xp8 in the rear and they will pull your face off at any speed mate trust me. if you were closer id take you out for a spin and bet i can make your teeth touch the dashboard

Although I am going to be upping power in future, I still disagree with the mind set of "just enough" when tunning and always look to get the best I can afford, and in order to go really fast you have to stop really well.

Regardless of power stopping is the best way to go faster, if I can brake later and harder in to corners it adds more speed and less time is wasted breaking.

Ill have a look at the Evo pot but im sure its empty to the very last penny, I forgot I ordered a load of braided lines and a Exedy double plate and a few other bits LOL

10's are noisy mate, a little bit like running fingernails down a blackboard but to me with 500bhp, its worth it

mate seriously, you wont believe the difference running xp pads make, i drove my mates 400bhp ix the other week and i didnt think i was gonna stop and i was only doing 40mph lol

simple answer to none matching calipers is to do what ter did and paint the rears silver to match the alcons

Is that in alcons or brembos mate as my brembos now are poo but standard pads and discs so with Alcon front and xp8 rear brembos on a standard disc will be enough ?

I could spray the rear brembos but rather have alcons
